FindToledo.com is a free and open source website, maintained entirely by members of Your community. Here you can have free-range of discussion, without fear of AI or deletion from popular social media networks. We have no direct ruling other than if it is illegal to do, don’t do it. Seems easy, right?
We have “groups” where you can host discussion, post images & videos using Imgur, use the business directory, access Craigslist-like content and too much more. You are perfectly free to create a new group to fit your liking at any time.
How The Project Works
The entire project is based on WordPress Multi-site, BuddyPress and just a hand-full of useful WordPress Plugins to improve the user experience. Our main template is a free fork of Social Press.
Our hosting is self-managed on a dedicated server hosted in Michigan, based on Control Web Panel. All DNS, email and the like are self-maintained. We use Cloudflare for anti-spam from bots.
How The Project Works … For You
When you create a site here, post in groups or contribute to the project, you are in full control of your content. That’s it! The entire server is backed up daily and maintenance / updates are preformed every weekend.
We also host community applications, allow “proxy-ing” aka pipes through our network for load balancing, spam control and traffic control. For example: Your application might run like: http://123.123.123.123:30001/ but here you can have a “pretty” URL like https://mysupercoolapp.findtoledo.com/
